Where do I sign up for a personal rental? 

At Bird, we’re continuously innovating and finding new ways to bring the promise of clean, lightweight electric-vehicle transportation to everyone. As part of this process, we are updating and reimagining our rental offerings, which means that we can no longer onboard new riders to the rental program. 

We’d love to stay connected and keep you updated on future offerings and the new rental program once it’s rolled out. So stay in touch by joining our waiting list at rent.bird.co.

In the meantime, we encourage you to enjoy one of our shared Birds available in more than 100 cities around the world, or you can purchase a personal Bird for yourself at shop.bird.co.

How do I ride my vehicle?

Where can I ride?

You can ride wherever personal, micro-mobility vehicles are allowed in your city. City rules apply.

Per Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) guidelines, you may NOT transport our vehicles on an airplane.

 

How fast does my vehicle go?

Speed depends on factors like street grade and rider weight.

 

How far can it go on a full charge?

Range depends on factors like riding style, terrain, weather, e-scooter model and rider weight. Most riders see a max range of 10 miles (16 kilometers) on a full charge.

 

Do I have to wear a helmet?

We strongly encourage you to wear helmets and to follow local rules and regulations pertaining to riding micro-mobility vehicles.

 

How long is the rental period?

The rental period is one month. Your subscription will renew automatically on the same day of the following month until you cancel. You must cancel 24 hours in advance of your subscription renewal to avoid being charged for the following month. Please know that if you cancel your rental during the month, you'll still be responsible for paying the full rental fee for that month.

 

Can I still rent a shared vehicle?

Yes! You can still use our app to rent shared vehicles. Standard fees and per minute rates apply.

 

How do I return my vehicle at the end of the rental period?

Please cancel through the app under the ‘Personal Rental’ tab to cancel your rental 24 hours before your rental period renews to avoid being charged. We will provide instructions for how to return the vehicle at that time. Don’t worry, it’ll be as easy as when you received your rental initially.

 

How do I cancel my rental?

You can cancel through the app under the 'Personal Rental' tab. 

 

What happens if I cancel my rental?

When you cancel, we will arrange for pick up of the vehicle. Please know that if you cancel your rental at any time during the month, you'll still be responsible for paying the full rental fee for that month. If you have any questions about your rental period ending, you can contact us through the help center in the app.
